About UPS & Our Culture

UPS Airlines operates one of the largest cargo fleets in the world, and the associates who keep it moving are our Part-Time Air Hub Handlers. These unique UPS part-time jobs place you at the center of our overnight air sort operation, processing the time-critical Next Day Air and 2nd Day Air packages that UPS customers and businesses depend on for their most important shipments. If you are looking for part-time warehouse jobs near me with an aviation edge — where your work has a hard departure-window urgency that no ground sort can replicate — our air hub facilities offer the most exciting part-time shifts in the entire UPS network.

What Our Team Says (Employee Reviews)

"Working the air hub is a completely different level of intensity from a standard package center. The sort windows are compressed because the aircraft cannot wait, the team coordination is elite, and the overnight differential makes my hourly rate the highest of any part-time warehouse job I have researched in this city. UPS funded my airport security badge and all my ramp safety certifications at zero cost. It is genuinely the best part-time opportunity I have ever had." - Current Part-Time Air Hub Handler, Louisville, KY.

Role Overview & Responsibilities

As a UPS Part-Time Air Hub Handler, you process time-critical air shipments during a focused overnight sort shift at our air gateway facility, loading and unloading air cargo containers under strict aircraft departure window constraints inside a world-class aviation package center.

  • Air Parcel Sorting: Sort inbound air packages by destination routing code at high speed during the compressed overnight air sort window, ensuring every Next Day Air commit reaches its correct outbound container before the aircraft loading deadline.
  • ULD Building: Pack individual parcels tightly and efficiently into Unit Load Devices — air cargo containers — maximizing load density while keeping total container weight within FAA-approved limits for each outbound aircraft type.
  • Scan & Manifest Compliance: Scan every air package into the UPS air cargo manifest system and verify TSA security screening documentation before any parcel is cleared for aircraft loading, maintaining chain-of-custody accuracy on every single item.

Benefits & Perks

UPS Part-Time Air Hub Handlers earn Teamsters union base wages plus a meaningful overnight and aviation-ramp shift differential. All required airport security badging, ramp safety certifications, and TSA training are fully funded by UPS. Full Teamsters medical, dental, vision, pension, and UPS Earn & Learn tuition benefits are included from the first day of union eligibility.
