The duties of a Wealth Management Advisor also encompass monitoring clients' portfolios, analyzing market trends, and adjusting strategies as needed to optimize financial outcomes

The pivotal responsibility of this role is to establish reliance and nurture solid client connections, evaluate specific investment needs, and dispense expert, tailored advice to ensure clients meet their financial objectives. The central emphasis will be on creating exceptional client onboarding experiences, consistently reviewing client portfolios, and formulating and presenting appropriate investment strategies using the bank's diverse tools. Acting as the primary client interface, the Financial Advisor is primarily tasked with providing investment recommendations that align with client suitability, objectives, and timeline. The ultimate goal is to foster and solidify customer loyalty while deepening client relationships.

Customer:

  • Understanding the intricacies of financial markets and knowing when to give advice to clients is key
  • Educating clients on acceptable risks and performance expectations is key to establishing trust and nurturing strong customer relationships essential for achieving financial goals.
  • Fosters effective client partnerships and designs personalized strategies to support customers in realizing their financial ambitions.

Financial:

  • Responsible for driving the sustained growth of the portfolio
  • Fulfill the monthly sales target
  • Gathering External Assets (for example, acquiring from both established and fresh clientele)
  • Advice on Maturities
  • Uncovering uninvested opportunities

Risk:

  • Adhering to the specifications of internal and FINRA audit criteria
  • The Advisor's duty involves managing approvals and ensuring they meet the necessary criteria as mandated by industry regulators

Financial Advice:

  • Investment Reviews
  • Developing Financial Plans
  • Solution Positioning
  • Keeping client Personal Information Safe

Trading:

  • Accuracy
  • Discipline order/confirmation
  • Analyze the necessity of participating in the trade
  • Make sure to adhere to the provisions of the Best Interest Contract (BIC) for all recommendations
  • Stay informed and adaptable in light of the changing regulatory conditions
  • Possess advanced knowledge and serve as a key resource for software programs like LPL's ClientWorks, SalesForce, and Moneyguide-Pro

  • Decision Making - Recommend investments based on the client's suitability, time frame, and financial goals
  • Provides specialized wealth and investment guidance to BMO clients and potential customers, ensuring that the advice and services offered are in their best interest. Understands customer preferences to deliver customized wealth and investment solutions.
  • Executes approved sales and service procedures for customers and refers them to other departments as necessary.
  • Understanding Cost Basis, Tax documents, IRA (Individual Retirement Account) RMD (Required Minimum Distribution) withdrawals, and early withdrawal penalties are essential for managing finances effectively
  • Affirm client account details and complete all regulatory certifications
  • Leverage authority to impact the dispensation of investment advice in accordance with the BIS provisions and relevant securities regulations
  • The duties within this role are essential for meeting key objectives set by the business unit

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Candidates need to have completed a college program and acquired 3-5 years of finance-related work experience
  • Professionals working in finance often acquire certifications such as Series 7 and 66 licenses, or opt for a diverse set like Series 7, 63, and 65 licenses in combination with insurance licenses for life and health products
  • Fulfilling the background clearance prerequisites specified in U4 guidelines is necessary
  • Continued learning is monitored by both BMO and FINRA
