About Nettwerk Music Group

Founded in 1984, Nettwerk Music Group is a leading global independent record label with a legacy of purpose-driven innovation. We nurture a diverse roster of artists within fan-connected communities, helping artists cultivate deeply engaged audiences to build sustainable, long-term careers in the ever-evolving music industry.
Headquartered in Vancouver, Nettwerk's hybrid workforce operates from strategic hubs in Los Angeles, London, Hamburg, Eora / Sydney, New York, Nashville, Berlin, Amsterdam, Toronto, and beyond. With a wealth of cross-market expertise, our unified global team creates impactful, culturally resonant music experiences that transcend borders.

Role Summary

The Fan Engagement Intern role gives students and emerging talent the chance to translate their education and passion into real-world music industry experience. Collaborating directly with our Fan Engagement team, you will learn to leverage digital channels, social strategy, and compelling content to drive audience growth and community engagement for artists. In this role, you will gain hands-on experience with fan research & data, social management, content creation, and trend-driven strategy. We’re looking for someone obsessed with internet culture, fandoms, and niche communities who can translate creative ideas into impactful content for our artists.

This is a part-time internship requiring approximately 10–15 hours per week.

Role Responsibilities

  • Support the team in running artist fan & niche accounts - helping brainstorm content ideas, schedule posts, and keep pages active and engaging.
  • Identify emerging trends and sounds within our artist catalog, sourcing relevant viral clips, audio, and captions to build engaging fan page strategies.
  • Assist in publishing content and testing engagement tactics across experimental digital pages and emerging platforms.
  • Conduct research to identify relevant content creators, influencers, and superfans for upcoming artist campaigns and concert invites.
  • Create and batch short-form social assets for artists, including lyric videos, fan edits, and aesthetic content.
  • Capture iPhone content at local Nettwerk shows or events for use on fan pages.
  • Assist the fan engagement team with tasks as needed. Opportunity to explore cross-functional opportunities with other departments (such as marketing or advertising) based on interest and label needs.

What Success Looks Like

  • The fan pages you support stay active and consistent, with clear examples of posts or experimental tests that successfully moved engagement.
  • You are willing to dive in and experiment with new content concepts, with several of your original ideas actually being run by the team.
  • You’ve built creator and superfan lists that were used for real campaigns or show invites.
  • You take direction well, complete assigned tasks thoroughly and on time, and adapt easily to shifting team needs.
  • You spot trends and community opportunities early, taking the initiative to research an artist's specific fandom and present fresh concepts to the team.
  • You ask thoughtful questions, seek feedback to refine work, and actively explore how fan engagement impacts wider label and artist strategies

Qualifications

  • Immersed in online culture & fandoms, social media platforms (TikTok, Instagram, YouTube), and emerging internet subcultures.
  • Basic proficiency with short-form video editing tools (e.g., CapCut, Premiere, Canva) and experience posting to social media platforms.
  • Creative mindset with an interest in leveraging social analytics and research to inform content decisions.
  • Self-starter with high attention to detail, strong time-management skills, and clear written/verbal communication.
  • Eagerness to learn the mechanics of digital music marketing and fan community building.
  • Familiarity with Nettwerk’s artist roster and current digital music trends.

*While direct experience isn't required, we’d love to see anything you’ve created! Feel free to share links or attachments to fan accounts you’ve managed, video edits, social media pages you’ve grown, design/content projects, or any creative work that showcases your interests.

The pay range for this role is:
